The Story of GLAUDO™

The Beginning of Everything

It all started at home.

As a kid, Selim was always drawn to the things that make a house feel like home: the shape of a sofa, the way a room comes together, the corner everyone ends up sitting in. The dream was simple and it never went away: design pieces for the home and see people actually live with them.

2021

From walls to sofas.

In 2021, while studying law, he started selling his own wall art online. Stuck at home during the pandemic, he also saw how little his sofa fit real life, and began sketching something softer: no frame, no springs, just foam.

2024

The dream gets a name.

GLAUDO™ started with one idea: a frameless, all-foam sofa you can pull apart, pile up and actually live on. Today every GLAUDO™ piece is made to order in our workshop in Istanbul. The law degree is almost done, and the dream is finally out on the living room floor.

Our philosophy

Design

Everything starts with how people actually use a sofa: flopping down after work, building forts with the kids, hosting friends who stay too late. PUNCH™ has no frame and no springs, just layered foam, so it can be a sofa in the morning, a conversation pit at night and a guest bed when someone needs one. With 20 fabric colours, from quiet neutrals to loud-on-purpose, there's one for every kind of room.

We keep the shapes soft and the parts few. Every block is cut to work in more than one position, the covers come off for washing, and the proportions are tuned for long evenings as much as quick sits. To us, good design is the kind you stop noticing, because it simply fits the way you live.

Made To Order

We don't keep a warehouse full of sofas waiting for someone to want them. Your GLAUDO™ piece starts the day you order it: the foam is cut, the fabric is sewn in the colour you picked, and every block is shaped and checked by hand in our workshop in Istanbul.

Building this way takes a little longer, and that's the point. It means less waste, no overstock and more time spent on the details that make a sofa last, from the first cut to the day it arrives at your door.

Produced in Europe

Every GLAUDO™ piece is made in our own workshop on the European side of Istanbul, a city with generations of upholstery craft behind it. Keeping production close means we can see every step ourselves and work side by side with makers who know foam and fabric inside out. When something needs testing, tweaking or rethinking, it happens in person, on the workshop floor, with the people actually building your sofa.
